Le nomination per i Video Game Awards 2008 sono state annunciate e Grand Theft Auto IV, titolo Rockstar che di certo non ha bisogno di particolari presentazioni, ne riceve ben otto, superando Metal Gear Solid 4 che ne riceve sette e LittleBigPlanet e Fallout 3 che ne ricevono sei.
E’ stato annunciato inoltre che alla cerimonia del concorso sarà presente il famoso rapper 50 Cent, il quale si esibirà cantando il brano “Get Up“, in vista dell’imminente videogame 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand.
