di: Antonio "Difio" Di FinizioI recenti rumor vedevano David Cage e il suo team, i Quantic Dream, lavorare ad un nuovo progetto chiamato Horizon.
In un’intervista con Eurogamer, Cage ha però smentito questa indiscrezione, affermando che non c’è nessun progetto Horizon al momento in sviluppo presso il team.

Nonostante questo ha comunque affermato che al momento sono tutti concentrati sullo sviluppo di nuove tecnologie che possano superare quelle utilizzate con Heavy Rain. Ciò ovviamente porterebbe a nuovi rischi, ma allo stesso tempo permetterebbe di “tastare nuovi terreni”.
Ha poi spiegato perchè non voglia sfruttare il successo ottenuto da Heavy Rain per avere ancora più guadagni. Questo atteggiamento, infatti, andrebbe contro i suoi ideali e quelli del suo team.
Loro puntano a farsi pionieri di nuove forme di intrattenimento, il che porta sicuramente a tanti rischi come quello che il prodotto risulti non gradito al consumatore.
Ma questo non basta a fermare Cage che vuole sempre nuove sfide, cerca sempre nuove idee, vuole lottare con il suo team per convincerlo e spronarlo, vuole sentire il pericolo, sentire la paura, sentire l’emozione di lavorare su qualcosa in cui si crede fortemente.
Most of the team currently works on the next generation of technology and future concepts. We plan to significantly improve the technology compared to Heavy Rain, continue to take risks and explore new grounds.
Many people wondered why we were not ?milking the cow? after the success of Heavy Rain ? why we were not creating a sequel for next Christmas. It may sound weird from the outside, but this is really not how I see my company.
We genuinely try to be pioneers for this medium and discover new possibilities, which means taking more risks and not always giving people what they expect.
I need the challenge, I need the thrill of a new idea, I need to fight to convince my team, feel the danger, feel the fear, feel the excitement of working on something you strongly believe in.
Conclude l’intervento dicendo che non è una persona che mantiene molto i segreti riguardo i progetti di Quantic Dream, perciò se ci fosse qualcosa da annunciare, lo farà quando si sentiranno pronti.
